Here are some methods to make budget friendly, still in the trend earrings at home that only require a run to the art shop for things that won’t burn a hole in your pocket.
1.Silk Thread Tassel Earring
Materials required
- Silk thread
- Embroidery thread
- Earring hooks
- End caps
- Jump rings
- Fabric glue
- Scissors
- Round nose pliers
- Chain nose pliers
- Square cardboard (of sides 3 inch)
Procedure
- Wrap the silk thread around the cardboard 350 times approximately. Cut the wrapped thread from one side and tie all the strings together using embroidery thread preferably of same color.
- Use fabric glue to strengthen the knot.
- Use pliers to hold the silk from the knot and place it above the steams of boiling water. This will help in introducing smoothness in the strings.
- Using round nose pliers connect the earring hope to the jump ring which is then connected to the end cap. Now glue the cap to the knot.
- Trim its end in parallel manner to make it look more presentable.
- There you have your budget friendly earrings.
2.Semi Circular Tassel Earrings
Materials required
- Fake stones
- Fake chain jewelry
- Fabric glue
- Silk thread
- Canvas paper
- Silk thread
Procedure
- Glue a stone (that are used in making trinkets) on a cardboard and glue some chains around in semi circular manner. After doing this 3-4 times glue the last row of chain make sure you don’t cut it but join the ends of them using pliers. Cut it off from the canvas paper.
- Glue small pieces of silk thread on the opposite side of the design made. You can also use two color and glue them in alternative manner. Use fabric glue as adhesive.
- Cut another paper in the same shape as the design on the first paper and stick it above the silk threads to hide the ends glue on the other paper.
- Trim the other end in the circular manner.
- Wear these earrings by hanging it above smaller earrings.
3.Silk Thread Jhummkas

- Silk thread
- Earring base
- Gold stone chains
- Fabric glue
- Bendable Wire

Procedure
Wrap silk thread around a plate and cut it from one side. Use this long strings of silk to wrap a earring base (available in art stores). Make the thread go in and out of the earring base so that the whole base is covers by silk threads.
Now border the base with stone chains of different type up till wherever you desire.
Take a bendable wire and bend one of its ends using pliers. Place a bead from the other side, though it will not be able to escape from the other side. Put the open end of the wire through the earring base will remain hooked due to the bead.
Glue a stone on a canvas paper and glue some gold stone chains around it. Cut the design from the paper and stick it on the wire. Now bend the wire from the other end in the shape of the hook.

4.Decoupage Floral Jhumka
Materials required
- Decoupage tissue
- Decoupage gloss
- Jhumka base
- Flat brush
- Acrylic paint
- Earring hook
- Jump ring
- Bendable wire
- Beads
- Pliers
Procedure
Using a flat brush and acrylic paint, color the jhumka white.
Cut some design out of the decoupage paper and paste it on the base, trim the extra off.
After it dries paint some gloss over it.
Bend a wire from one end and make it go through the jhumka base, place a bead on the other end of the wire and hook it to a jump ring which in turn will be connected to a earring hook.

- Satin bands

Procedure
- Insert some small beads into a small length thread. Do it till the desired number of strings for your earring are made.
- Knot all of them together to form a bundle. Glue the knot inside a end cap that is attached to a jump ring.
- Glue a satin band over the end cap and surround it with strings of beads too.
- Attach the jump ring to an earring hook using pliers.

6.Fairy Wings Earring
Materials required
- Old CDs
- Black marker
- Scissors
- Jump rings
- Earring hook
Procedure
Break a CD into half and bend one part inward and outward till the shinny film comes out and the glass remains.
Outline it to look like a dragonfly wings using eye liner. Eye liners helps in giving texture.
Punch holes at one end of the wing using a heated needle and pliers. Be careful while handling the hot needle.
Pass the wings through a jump ring that is attached to a earring hook.
Now you have glossy wings to wear as party wear.
7.Paper Feather Earrings
Materials required
- Craft papers
- Scissors
- Marker
- Wire
- Glue stick
- Pliers
- Jump ring

Procedure
Cut the craft paper into small square and glue a wire on it, stick another craft paper on top of it.
Using a marker outline the feather diagram on the same paper. Cut the image out of the paper and add fringes to it using scissors. You can glue glitter to outline the wire.
Add a earring hook connected jump ring to one end of the paper feather. You can also insert beads on the earring hook by bending it straight using pliers and bending it again after it is inserted.

- Paper strips
- Needle

Procedure
- Roll some paper strips off into a tight ball.
- Put it into cookie cutter and let it unwrap into the shape you want. Stick the end using glue.
- Add jump ring and earring hook and you are good to go.
9.Woolen Tassel Earring
Materials required
- Wool yarn
- Glue
- Beads
- Scissors
- Jump rings
- Stone chain
- Bendable wires
- Earring hooks
Procedure
- Take few length of wool and spin it around a pencil, now gently take the pencil out of the woolen without disturbing the shape. Take one end of it and tie it around the middle so that it remain that way. Now trim the bundle from both the ends to make balls out of the wool.
- Take a bendable wire and bend its one end in a shape of a hook, add some glue on this end and pierce it out of the woolen ball so that the hook get stuck in the ball. Now add beads from the other side of the wire and bend the other side into a hook too so that a jump ring can be added to it using pliers. Bend the wire’s end sp that the jump ring doesn’t come out. Now add an earring hook to the jump ring.
