This is the simplest way to make a paper plate crown with kids for birthday parties. The cost is right also! We made this particular crown for another contribution to kids craft section. Making a paper plate crown is fun whether you are studying.
Required Material:
- Paper Plate
- Scissors
- Crayons
- Verse Printable
- Buttons (optional)
- Hot Glue (optional)
See the full tutorial that gives the step-by-step process.
You want to use just a flimsy paper plate. Each child will need one.
Fold the paper plate in half.
There is absolutely no need to draw a dotted line on your paper plate. I did it on mine as a helpful visual for you to see where you cut. Essentially, you cut it like a pizza.
Most of the cuts you can do while the paper plate is folded. Do not cut all the way through. Cut it up to the ruffle edge of the plate.
You will need to open up the paper plate to make the final two cuts.
Here is what it looks like after all the cuts have been made.
We prepped all of these paper plates for our Cubbies leaders. It’s the least we could do. They are teaching our kids every week.
We also cut out the verse printable that will be glued on the edge.
The craft is now all prepped and ready for the kids. They can color the paper plate however they want to create the look of their crown.
I made the example for the leaders, and this was my design.
The kids can glue the verse on the edge of the plate.
To make the crown part stand up, the kids can just fold them up into place.
We added buttons to the final look, but this is completely optional.
