We all have played with the clay when we were small children. We loved it adored it. We felt mesmerised with the beautiful colours and shapes it took up. The way it moulded in any shape was so satisfying. Let us rewind the time film and go back in the clay age. Let us relieve ourselves of all the stress using play dough. All we get nowadays is clay or play dough made with harmful chemicals which can prove a health disaster for our children. Let us try to curb this hazard by making clay at home. The feeling that our children play with safe equipment is of immense pleasure. This provides us with happiness and contentment. This contentment in turn helps to relieve stress as our children are the reason we work hard day and night. Their welfare holds utmost importance.

How To Make Clay With Maida

Let us get started with making some safe to play dough with bright colours which can melt any heart. To make safe play dough take 1 cup maida and ½ cup salt. Mix them and then add ½ cup water to it. Keep stirring to avoid the formation of lumps. Now mix and knead it well to make it soft and mouldable. Now add water colour to it. To give bright colours keep on adding the colour after every few kneads. You can add food colouring to make edible play dough. Adding food colouring ensures that the play dough is extremely safe for your children to play with. For better understanding of the procedure look up:

How To Make Newspaper Clay

We can even recycle newspapers by making clay by using old newspapers. Let us start. First of all tear a newspaper sheet in thin strips, about one inch broad. It has to be a broad estimation. Then tear these strips into small pieces. Place all the strips in a water mug. The smaller the pieces will be the better the clay will be. Now place these newspaper strips in water for about 4 hours. Once you fell they are soggy and soft enough go for the next step. Now put this watery mixture in a grinder and grind the watery newspaper mix. Grind the mixture 3 to 4 times. Now when you feel that the mixture is well ground then strain the mixture of excess water and place the mixture in an open container. Now pour some liquid glue on the mixture and knead the mixture well. Once the mixture has been kneaded and becomes soft, it is ready to be used. You can colours to it as well, but the colours reduce its age. Non-coloured newspaper clay can be stored in the fridge for 4-5 days. How To Make Clay At Home With Glue

For the next method we require vegetable oil, fevicol glue, cornstarch and food colouring. Mix the ingredients together. Keep stirring until the mixture is free from lumps. While you are hallway mixing put 1 tablespoon of liguid detergent in the mixture. Now in the end knead with hands. Once the mixture is soft and mouldable you are ready to mould shapes out of your home made clay. For better understanding look up:

The next video we are going to see might seem very much similar to the previous ones but the girl teaching us to make the clay is so sweet that I could not help placing her video in the list. We need some all purpose flour to start with. Then add vegetable oil and salt to the flour. Then add water to the mixture. Add food colouring of your own choice to the mixture. Knead the mixture well. Now after you mix it well, start thinking of what you will make out of this beautiful clay. For better understanding look up:

DIY Homemade Polymer Clay

All the play doughs we have made till now had very less consistency. Now we are going to make a clay with high consistency. We will use some corn flour and olive/baby oil, liquid glue, lemon juice and body lotion. Now take the corn starch, the glue, lemon juice and baby oil in a big open container. Now mix them well. Now knead it using the cornstarch as the base on the shelf of your kitchen. Now put some body lotion to knead it. As we know cornstarch makes it dry faster, we need to put in body lotion to keep it soft and sticky. Now take a plastic wrap and put some body lotion in the insides of it and wrap the clay in it to keep it soft until you use it. Now to dye the white clay we can use sharpie pens or sketch pens. Mark lines and patterns on top of the clay piece and knead it, you will get a nice colour. For better understanding look up:
