For kids to be happy with stuff is not easy, they like what they like and there are no shortcuts here, you must make them something you like. For those fussy kids, I have various options of boxes which are quick and easy, and can be tweaked a bit to suit the child’s liking, ensuring smiles all the way. 1. Paper strawberry box
Things you need
- Red and green paper
- Pencil and pen
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- Thread or ribbon
Procedure
- The first thing to do is to cut out a circle from the red paper. Take your circle and fold it in half, fold it twice again.
- Draw a petal like outline on the cone like fold and cut it. Mark a little spot for the hole punch and make a hole before opening up.
- Now cut out three fourths of the shape to remove it. Using a marker draw black spots on the paper.
- Take your thread or ribbon and holding the ends together and pass it through the holes. Gently pull together and tie a knot.
- Take the green paper and cut a small circle, fold it half and twice more to get a cone shape. Cut out a pointed petal like shape and cut from one end slightly. This will go over the strawberry.
- Put it through the thread and tie a knot to secure the leaf to complete the cute bag, you can put treats inside.
2. Paper pearly box
Things you need
- Coloured paper
- Scissors
- White paper
- Pencil
- Ruler
- 3D Outlier
- Pearl stickers
Procedure
- Take a white sheet of paper; fold it in half and once more from one side. Using a pencil draw the shape of the box on the white sheet. Use a ruler for measurements.
- Cut out the shape, unfold it and use the shape as an outline for the coloured paper from which will form the box.
- Paste a white sheet on one side to give strength to the paper. Fold from all sides to form creases at the base.
- Now fold the pointed sides a bit to cut out a slit to lock it later. Using a 3D outliner, outline the edges of the box to give it more appeal.
- Now start sticking pearl stickers or pearls at the edges. After that take a white piece of paper and cut out a flower from it. Colour the inner edges.
- Pate a pearl in the middle of the flower and paste the whole flower on the box. The box is complete.
3. Paper cup box
Things you need
- Styrofoam cups
- Scissors
- Decorative stones
- Smiley face badge
- Glue
- Decorative tape
Procedure
- Take the cup and cut off the rim of the cup, then make equally spaced vertical cuts.
- Put in whatever you want to gift and start folding the vertical cuts inwards.
- Seal the top with the smiley face or any other decorative as you please. You can use decorative tape if you wish in place of the smiley. The box is ready.
4. Pencil shaped box
Things you need
- Colour paper
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Sketch pens
- Craft knife
Procedure
- Mark the dimensions on white paper (see dimensions in video). Cut out the shape obtained, this will act as a stencil for the gift box.
- Run the craft knife lightly on the markings for easy folding.
- Now apply glue and join the tip of the pencil box. Now cut out 4 x 9 cm colour strips for the pencil body, and 4 x 6.5 cm for the triangular tip.
- We need different coloured strips for the body and multiple same coloured triangles for the tip.
- Now paste the colour paper cut outs on the white paper box. Highlight the pencil shaped box with black paper cut outs. Paste them on the tip.
- Cut out the base from the coloured paper as well (dimensions in video). Paste a small black hexagon in the middle as well.
- Pate the coloured base on the white base with glue stick. Optionally you can draw and paste your favourite cartoon character as well. The pencil box is now ready.
5. Poke ball box
Things you need
- Template( google poke ball template)
- Scissors
- Glue
Procedure
- Take a printout of the template and cut out the design.
- Start folding it into shape.
- Paste the sides and the pieces together. Cut it from the between to make it operable.
- Paste the remaining pieces to finish your poke ball box.
6. Triangle Box
Things you need
- Coloured paper
- Scissors
- Ribbon
Procedure
- Take a square of coloured paper and draw the pattern onto it. Cut out the pattern.
- Using a cutting knife, make holes at the marked points, and fold the edges using a ruler.
- Take the ribbon, pass it through the holes, and tie a bow to finish your gift box.
7. Pillow box
Things you need
- Coloured paper
- Glue
- Colour pencils
- Ruler
- Scissors
Procedure
- Using a ruler mark the outlines of the box on a sheet of coloured paper. Make rounded edges before cutting it out.
- Now fold the sides wherever necessary of the cut out to give it a box shape.
- Either draw or print out face parts of an animal of choice, and cut them out separately.
- Paste them onto the box frame, the ears will be outwards and the face stuck onto the front of the box.
- Using a marker or pen outline the edges to define them. The pillow box is complete.
8. Panda box
Things you need
- White paper
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Marker and pencil
- Glue
Procedure
- On a white sheet of paper, start making the markings for the box using a pencil and ruler.
- Make half panda bodies at the edges specified (in the video).Then cut out the basic box shape.
- Make half cuts on the panda bodies, and start folding the box into shape.
- Erase the pencil marks and using a marker draw the panda half bodies on each side.
- Using glue paste the edges to form the box. The half panda bodies with the slits should close in such a way, that on closing the box the panda becomes complete. Your panda box is ready to fill with stuff.
