DIY: Learn to Make Recycled Sweater Vase with Old Sweater and bottle

Beautiful Vases adds to the beauty of room with flowers. There has been lot of tutorial regarding preparation of vases but their are very few on decoration of vases and especially on recycling of vases in eco-friendly and cheap way. Here is a tutorial to decorate your home with recycled vases using home available old sweaters.

The Supplies You May Need

  • Old pot or bottle
  • Old sweater
  • Scissor
  • Scale

Step 1: Find an old pot or a bottle and put out our old sweater.

Step 2: Lay down the bottle one of the sleeve of sweater and leave the sleeve about 1 1/2 inches on either side

Step 3: Cut the sleeve of sweater

Step 4: Now sew at the cut edge 1/4 inch to avoid unravelling of sweater

Step 5: Insert bottle inside sweater

Make sure that bottle is in center inside the sleeve. Pull the sweater on either side and pin the sweater as shown in the image.

Step 6: Take out the bottle and sew the sleeve along the pins

Step 7: Cut 1 inch away from stitching.

Step 8: Cut a few slits into the fabric next to the bend, making sure not to catch the stitching.

Step 9: The final touch

Turn the cover and slip it over bottle and tuck in the top and bottom edges.

Now your vase is ready. You can apply same method for other pots and bottles to make vases in other shapes also.
