The Pink Dragon

The dragons have stood out as an epitome or replica of Chinese culture. So we would start off with the basic craft that includes the dragon image.

Materials required:

1. Toothpicks
2. Pink/Red chart paper
3. Oil pastels
4. Black Marker
5. Glue
6. Scissors

How to make it?

1. Draw the head and the tail end of the dragon as shown in the diagram above.
2. Color it with the help of oil pastels so that it looks prominent. (You can use any form of colors suitable to you)
3. Make highlights with the help of a black marker.
4. Cut the figures.
5. Cut a strip of the chart paper of a preferable length and make folds on it. This will give the curvy look to the dragon.
6. Stick the cut parts on the strip.
7. Now you can stick the toothpick on the body of the cut dragon.

Materials required:

1. Newspapers
2. Paints
3. Brush

6. Pom-pom balls (small ones)
7. A small rectangular container or box for the face of the dragon
8. Thread

How to make it?

1. Take the newspaper. Cut long strips out of it for rolls (any size preferable to you)
2. Roll up the strips and stick them with glue.
3. Shred some strips of newspaper for the bottom design.
4. Make the cutout for tongue also.
5. Paint all of these pieces of newspaper.
6. Take the container for face. Cover it with newspaper and paint that too. You can also make paper balls and stick it above the face to give the exact effect as in the picture.
7. Slide the rolls into the thread. Tie it on one end and paste the head on the other.
8. Attach paper shreds to the rolls. Paste the tongue.
9. Decorate the dragon with feathers and pom-pom balls.

Materials required:

1. A stick (refer to the picture)
2. Thermocol sheets
3. Colorful ribbons
4. Jewelry wire
5. Small clay balls
6. Paint
7. Brush
8. Hard Plastic sheet
9. Marker

How to make it?

1. Take the thermocol sheets and cut two circles of radius 3 cm each
2. Cut smalls rectangular boxes which can be used to paste at the sides in between the circles cut out (giving the required effect)
3. Cut the circles from inside leaving an outside circumference 0.5 cm
4. Paste the plastic sheets on both the circles.
5. Insert the stick from the bottom of the drum.
6. Fold the jewelry wire and attach the clay balls on one end.
7. Insert the other to the drum sides.
8. Tie the ribbons to make the drum look more attractive.

You can play with it or keep it as a show-piece.

1. Glass jars
2. Red paint/Red thin transparent paper

4. Transparent glue

How to make it?

1. Take the glass jars. If you have the paper,cover the jars with the paper and make the sign with the help of a golden liquid glitter tube.
2. Or else you can use red paint to cover the jar and make the sign with the glitter tube.
3. Place the small wax candles inside the jar.

The place will be lightened in a soothing glow with the shimmer of glitter reflecting on the red background.

3. Using a scoring tool, divide the paper further into 16 squares.

5. Now cut the last column squares in order to fold it in the shape of a lantern.
6. Decorate it with golden strips.

How to make it?

1. For the body of the dragon,take the colored papers. Place your hand on it and trace it out. Cut the paper along the tracing of your hand.
2. Draw the head of the dragon on a white sheet of paper and cut it out. Color it using glitter paints and outline to highlight the features.
3. Paste these cut outs in a fashion as given in the diagram.
4. Paste the ice-cream stick on the back side of the figure as shown in the diagram above.

How to do it?

1. Take the thread, fold it in a way of making a loop. Tie a knot. Pass the looped thread through the knot forming a pattern for the petals.
2. Follow this pattern again and again taking the shape of a flower.
3. Once done with the pattern, tie a knot. Slide in the bead (patterned) from the other end of the flower. Tie another knot. Now take the two parts of the thread individually. Slide in the beads and tie a knot again.
4. Stick the white bead in the center i.e. the bud of the flower.

3. Use black markers to highlight them.
4. Paste the printed paper on a golden paper.

1. Cut rectangular sheets(2 sheets for 1 piece of the craft shown in the figure) of paper. (Prefer taking small lengths, supposedly 10*12 cm) and a circle for the above attachment.
2. Fold the paper in the form of a fan.
3. Depress and fold the fan from the middle.
4. Paste two fans together from the middle. Expand the folds.
5. Paste the circle in a folded manner on one end as shown in the picture.
6. Attach a thread to the topmost part of it and tie a knot to the thread so that it can be suspended or hanged.
