All we get nowadays is clay or play dough made with harmful chemicals which can prove a health disaster for our children. Let us try to curb this hazard by making clay at home. The feeling that our children play with safe equipment is of immense pleasure. How To Make Clay With Maida

Let us get started with making some safe to play dough with bright colours which can melt any heart. To make safe play dough take 1 cup maida and ½ cup salt. Mix them and then add ½ cup water to it. Keep stirring to avoid the formation of lumps. Now mix and knead it well to make it soft and mouldable. Now add water colour to it. To give bright colours keep on adding the colour after every few kneads. You can add food colouring to make edible play dough. How To Make Newspaper Clay

We can even recycle newspapers by making clay by using old newspapers. Let us start. First of all tear a newspaper sheet in thin strips, about one inch broad. It has to be a broad estimation. Then tear these strips into small pieces. Place all the strips in a water mug. The smaller the pieces will be the better the clay will be. Now place these newspaper strips in water for about 4 hours. Once you fell they are soggy and soft enough go for the next step. Now put this watery mixture in a grinder and grind the watery newspaper mix. Grind the mixture 3 to 4 times. Now when you feel that the mixture is well ground then strain the mixture of excess water and place the mixture in an open container. Now pour some liquid glue on the mixture and knead the mixture well. Once the mixture has been kneaded and becomes soft, it is ready to be used. You can colours to it as well, but the colours reduce its age. Non-coloured newspaper clay can be stored in the fridge for 4-5 days. How To Make Clay At Home With Glue

For the next method we require vegetable oil, fevicol glue, cornstarch and food colouring. Mix the ingredients together. Keep stirring until the mixture is free from lumps. While you are hallway mixing put 1 tablespoon of liguid detergent in the mixture. DIY Homemade Polymer Clay

All the play doughs we have made till now had very less consistency. Now we are going to make a clay with high consistency. We will use some corn flour and olive/baby oil, liquid glue, lemon juice and body lotion. Now take the corn starch, the glue, lemon juice and baby oil in a big open container. Now mix them well. Now knead it using the cornstarch as the base on the shelf of your kitchen. Now put some body lotion to knead it. As we know cornstarch makes it dry faster, we need to put in body lotion to keep it soft and sticky. Now take a plastic wrap and put some body lotion in the insides of it and wrap the clay in it to keep it soft until you use it. Now to dye the white clay we can use sharpie pens or sketch pens.
