Easy Gorilla Drawing Tutorial For Kids

Today we’re gonna learn how to draw the mighty gorilla. So, let’s get started!

Things You’ll Need:

  • Paper
  • Pencils
  • Erasers
  • Paint/crayons

1. Draw head and the body of gorilla

We’re gonna start with drawing the head and the body of our gorilla. The head is a large oval shape with a bulge. Draw the body as show in the picture. Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be perfect!

2. Draw gorilla’s face

Draw the outline for the nose, mouth and ears on the gorilla’s face. Make sure the shapes are proportional.

Draw two circles for its eyes and a curved line for its mouth. Doesn’t it look cute?

4. Draw arms

Now, it’s gonna get a little tricky. Draw two oblong arms, one on each side of the gorilla’s body. Draw it’s fists and thumbs.

5. Draw hindlegs

Carefully draw its hindlegs. Define the feet by drawing the toes.

6. Draw chest of gorilla

As we all know and have probably seen, gorillas are big animals and one of their trademark mannerisms is to beat their chest to intimidate their opponent. So, make sure to draw a prominent chest on your gorilla.

7. Draw thick fur on head and ear

Gorillas’ bodies are mostly covered by thick fur to protect them in harsh weather. Draw the fur of their body. Draw an ear on each side of its face.

8. Let’s color the gorilla

Finally colour in the gorilla with black paint or crayons. The chest does not have any fur so make sure not to colour that part.

And that’s how you draw a gorilla. Wasn’t that fun? Drawing and colouring is a complex activity that requires both concentration and coordination. It is one of the best activities for children as it not only engages them but it also stimulates their creative and artistic side. As a parent or an educator, you can always bond with your children through fun and exciting activities such as this.
