Make Amazing Crafts from Simple Plastic Spoons

Decorate your house from plastic spoons that always gets left after parties. You can also use the used spoon. These spoons sure can come handy in decorating your house all year round.

Candle Stand

Materials required

  • Cardboard
  • Plastic spoons
  • Acrylic colors
  • Brush
  • Floating diyas
  • Decorative pearl
  • Glue
  • Scissors

Procedure

  1. Draw three circles on a cardboard at some space between them and join them together through curved lines. Cut the outlines using scissors.
  2. Take a few spoons and color the head of them with desired different colors.
  3. Cut the head of the spoon off the rest of the part.
  4. Glue the spoon’s head’s one end around the cardboard cutout. Using same definite color for one circle. Outline the cutout with spoons.
  5. Paste a second layer overlapping the inner rim of the circle of spoons. Preferrebly of the same color as the outer circle. Make sure you leave flat surface at the center for the candle. Soon it will resemble a flower
  6. Glue decorative beads at the center of the spoons.
  7. You can place a small floating cancle at the center of it.
  8. To add more resistivity, paint it with heat resistant chemicals.
  9. There you have candle to decorate house on Diwali and Christmas. Let there be light crafters.

Recycled Lady Bug

Materials required

  • Plastic spoon
  • Pliers
  • Hot glue
  • Acrylic color
  • Brush
  • Toy eyes

Procedure

  1. Paint one spoon black and other two black.
  2. Using pliers cut the head off the spoons. While cutting the red one, make sure you cut in a sliding manner than a straight cut.
  3. Using hot glue stick the red spoons on the top of the black one in a manner where the sliding cut of the red spoons intersect.
  4. Decorate it more using rolled black paper as tentacle, black paint to make spoons and toy eyes for eyes.
  5. Place the lady bugs at the shelf or on the flower pot to add a funky touch to your garden.

Recycled Honey Bee

Materials required

  • Thermocol ball
  • Acrylic paint and brush
  • Black plastic spoon
  • 4 transeperent spoons
  • Pliers
  • Candle and lighter
  • Glitter
  • Toy eyes

Procedure

  1. Paint a thermocol ball black.
  2. Cut all the spoon’s head off using pliers.
  3. Using glitter paint draw some horizontal lines on the black spoon’s head.
  4. Light a candle and warm the sides of the transperent spoons to make them look more realistic.
  5. Warm the amputated end of them and stick two heads together at 30 degree angle between them. Do the same with the other two.
  6. Now stick the two pair of wings on the black spoon and insert the thermocol ball on the amputated end of the black spoon. Stick some toy eyes on them. And rolled paper as tentacle.
  7. You can paint spoons as black if you don’t have one.
  8. Now you have your own funky looking honey bee to decorate your garden and flowers.

Spoon Tulip

Materials required

  • Plastic spoons
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Acrylic color
  • Brush
  • Wool
  • Thin wooden sticks
  • Green colored paper

Procedure

  1. Take a long string of wool and wrap it around your finger. Take the winded wool off your finger and tie it at from its mid section so that it doesn’t open.
  2. Using scissors cut the wool from the side so that it resemble small daffodils.
  3. Stick them at one end of a thin wooden stick.
  4. Paint the head of the plastic spoon with bright colors. Stick the handle of the spoon on the stick so that the concave side of the spoon’s head face the small wollen flower. Surround the wooden stick with spoons’s handle in the same manner. Stick atleast 5-6 spoons on it. Use scotch tape to stick them together. They will look like tulips now.
  5. Roll some green paper on the wooden stick to make it look like leaves.
  6. Pack the tulips in a small vase with the green paper stick in between.
  7. There you have your bunch of tulips that will never dry.

Spoon Lampshade

Materials required

  • Plastic spoons
  • Plastic glass
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun
  • Holder and bulb

Procedure

  • Take some white spoons and cut their head off from the handle of the spoons.
  • Take a plastic glass and cut its base off from the glass.
  • Use hot glue to stick the tip of the spoons’s head on the glass. Stick them close together one overlapping over other starting from the bse of the glass to the rim of it. It will soon resemble a white lotus.
  • Cut a cardboard of the size of the mouth of the plastic glass and cut a hole at the center of it big enough to fit a holder in it. Fit a holder at the hole and stick a big cap at the bottom of it for stability. Place a bulb in the holder. Cover the holder with a lampshade now.
  • There you have a beautiful lampshade to light the regular as well as festive nights.

Spoon Mirror Frame

Materials required

  • Plastic spoons
  • Circular mirror
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun
  • Spray paint
  • Ruler
  • Masking tape
  • Cardboard

Procedure

  • Cut the head of spoon off its handle.
  • Cut a cardboard into circular shape. This will be the template for the frame so make it as large as you want your frame to be.
  • Outline the mirror with the heads and then stick it at the center of the cardboard. Make sure the concave side of the heads are facing up.
  • Continue sticking the heads in a circular manner till you reach the border of the cardboard.
  • Cover the mirror with a paper and spray paint on the spoons.
  • Tie a string at the rear side of the frame. This will come handy in handling it.
  • And there you have a artsy looking mirror where you can look and admire both yourself and the frame.

Spoon Flower Jewellery

Materials required

  • Plastic spoons
  • Candle and lighter
  • Tweezers
  • Felt paper
  • Clips or pins
  • Hot glue

Procedure

Light a candle and heat spoons on them. Heat the middle portion of the head to make buds. Use tweezers to twist in into a bud. Heat it from the sides to make realistic looking petals. Using tweezer to pull some sides to make them look more real.
Stick the petals together with bud at the center using glue. Heat the bottom of it and press it against a ceramic or glass surface to flatter the surface.
Stick it on clips and hairband and use them as jewellery. Make sure you are handling fire with caution.

Christmas Tree

Materials required

  • Cardboard
  • Stapler
  • Plastic spoons
  • Pliers
  • Metallic spray paint
  • Hot glue gun

Procedure

  1. Fold a cardboard into a cone and staple it so that it hold this position.
  2. Use pliers to cut spoon’s head off its handle.
  3. Start stick the head from the base. With the amputed end glued on the cone and other end free. Slowly go up by sticking the heads in a circular pattern.
  4. After you read the tip of the cone spray paint on it.
  5. Add stars and glitter to it.
  6. And now you can have more than one Christmas tree at your house.
