How to Draw a Wolf for Kids – Easy Step by Step Tutorial

A child’s education goes way beyond the four walls of a classroom. While their intellectual side what we mainly focus on, their creative and artistic side is equally important. Creativity is a way for children to express their feelings and their experiences, openly and without judgement. Art nurtures mental growth and it is a great way for parents/teachers to get to know their children/students better.

In today’s tutorial, we’ll take a look at some easy steps that will teach your youngster how to draw a wolf. Guidance and instructions are important during the early stages of learning. Children need a combination of both discipline as well as freedom at this age. So, what better way to teach them the importance of learning than through fun and interactive drawing sessions?

Let’s get started!

This animal is a wolf and this is what we’re gonna draw today!

Things You’ll Need:

  • A piece of paper
  • A pencil
  • An eraser
  • Colour pencils or crayons (whichever you prefer)

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1:

Let’s start with the face. Try to match your drawing as closely to the picture as possible. Don’t make the nose too big!

Step 2:

Now we’re gonna draw two small triangles on the head for its ears. Then, starting from the side of the face, draw the bdy of the wolf.

Step 3:

Now, draw the patch of neck fur. Wolves have thick fur to keep them warm in the cold climates where they live.

Step 4:

Now, draw two legs and two paws. It’s starting to look a lot like a wolf, isn’t it?

Step 5:

Draw the back leg and then move on to the outstretched front leg. Draw curved lines on each paw to define the digits.

Step 6:

Now, let’s focus on our wolf’s face. Draw the snout. Draw a small circle for the nose and a line for its mouth; draw a small circular eye too. You can define the ears by drawing another small triangle inside the right ear.  Finally, draw a bushy tail at the backside.

Step 7:

Colour in the nose and the eye. You can double line the entire drawing to make it more defined. And with that your wolf drawing is complete!

Drawing is a fantastic way for children to explore their inner artistic side. Every child has an inherent sense of creativity and so it’s important to nurture that as they grow. Once they get the hang of drawing basic shapes and animals they will automatically feel encouraged to draw more and can eventually do so without instructions.
