Learn the Basic Shapes of Quilling
Materials:
- Quilling pen.
- Circle sizer.
- Quilling strips.
- Craft Glue.
Procedure:
Shaped Teardrop:
- Take a quilling strip and a quilling pen, roll the strip into the quilling pen.
- Pull off the coil after rolling it.
- Take a circle sizer, put the coil into a middle shape circle and then roll it with your hands.
- Apply glue at the end of the strip to properly secure it.
- After getting ready with the coil, pull the centre down and pinch the tip by bending it a little.
- The shaped form is called a shaped teardrop.
Curved Teardrop:
- Take a quilling strip and a quilling pen, roll the strip into the quilling pen.
- Pull off the coil after rolling it.
- Take a circle sizer, put the coil into a middle shape circle and then roll it with your hands.
- Apply glue at the end of the strip to properly secure it.
- After getting ready with the coil, take the back of the quilling pen.
- Take the middle of the coil and bend it with the back of the quilling pen.
- The shaped form is called a curved teardrop.
Shaped Marquis:
- Take a quilling strip and a quilling pen, roll the strip into the quilling pen.
- Pull off the coil after rolling it.
- Take a circle sizer, put the coil into a middle shape circle and then roll it with your hands.
- Apply glue at the end of the strip to properly secure it.
- After getting ready with the coil, hold the coil on both side’s coil and pinch it.
- Give a small turn on both sides.
- The shaped form is called a Shaped Marquis.
Duck foot:
- Take a quilling strip and a quilling pen, roll the strip into the quilling pen.
- Pull off the coil after rolling it.
- Take a circle sizer, put the coil into a middle shape circle and then roll it with your hands.
- Apply glue at the end of the strip to properly secure it.
- After getting ready with the coil, hold the coil on both side’s coil and pinch it.
- Leave a curve on the bellow and a pointed edge on the top.
- Look at the coil in total it will have three points at the top.
- The shaped form is called a duck foot.
Shaped square:
- Take a quilling strip and a quilling pen, roll the strip into the quilling pen.
- Pull off the coil after rolling it.
- Take a circle sizer, put the coil into a middle shape circle and then roll it with your hands.
- Apply glue at the end of the strip to properly secure it.
- After getting ready with the coil, pinch both sides of the coil.
- Pinch the other sides also, you will be pinching a total of four sides.
- The shaped form is called a shaped square.
Rectangle:
- Take a quilling strip and a quilling pen, roll the strip into the quilling pen.
- Pull off the coil after rolling it.
- Take a circle sizer, put the coil into a middle shape circle and then roll it with your hands.
- Apply glue at the end of the strip to properly secure it.
- After getting ready with the coil, pinch one side of the coil and then the other side close to that side.
- Leave a gap and pinch on the opposite side.
- You will be pinching four points a total which makes a rectangular shape.
- Adjust the shape with your quilling shape.
- The shaped form is called a rectangular.
Crescent:
- Take a quilling strip and a quilling pen, roll the strip into the quilling pen.
- Pull off the coil after rolling it.
- Take a circle sizer, put the coil into a middle shape circle and then roll it with your hands.
- Apply glue at the end of the strip to properly secure it.
- After getting ready with the coil, pinch both sides of the coil to create a curve.
- Shaped the curve according to a creasing shape.
- Adjust the shape with your quilling shape.
- Keep the shape narrow upwards by pushing it down, which will make a broader backwards.
- The shape form is called a crescent.
Triangle:
- Take a quilling strip and a quilling pen, roll the strip into the quilling pen.
- Pull off the coil after rolling it.
- Take a circle sizer, put the coil into a middle shape circle and then roll it with your hands.
- Apply glue at the end of the strip to properly secure it.
- After getting ready with the coil, pinch one side of the coil.
- Hold two other sides of the coil and pinch, which will create a triangle.
- The shape form is called Triangle.
