Basic Shapes – Part I

Quillings are a thing you all should do to remove your stress and make the kinds of stuff around you beautiful. Use your free time to do quilling. It should calm your mind and grow your concentration level. Today you are going to make some of the important shapes which are required for quilling. So, follow the process note the manes, and Let’s begin!

Learn the Basic Shapes of Quilling with paper

Materials:

  • Quilling strips.
  • A glue bottle.
  • A scissor.
  • A scale with many types of circles in it.
  • A pen-like object or the object to make small holes and rolls. ( Like a needle or pin)
  • P.s- Don’t hurt yourself while using it. You can also take help from the elders.

Tight Coil:

  • Take a long narrow color strip and roll it with the help of a pen-like object or an object with sharp long sides and edges.
  • Apply some glue from the glue box at the end of it. A small hole should be present on it. It must be very small.
  • The tight coil is ready!

Loose Coil:

  • Take a long narrow color strip and roll it with the help of a pen-like object or an object with sharp long sides and edges.
  • Place the shape a little loosely into a hole of a scale with many types of circles in it.
  • Pull out the middle roll of it a little and then fold it with your fingers sidewise making a leaflike shape.
  • Apply some glue from the glue box at the end of it. A small hole should be present on it.
  • The loose coil is ready!

Teardrop:

  • Take a long narrow color strip and roll it with the help of a pen-like object or an object with sharp long sides and edge.
  • Place the shape a little loosely into a hole of a scale with many types of circles in it.
  • Pull out the middle roll of it a little and then fold it with your fingers sidewise making a leaflike shape.
  • Apply some glue from the glue box at the end of it. A small hole should be present on it.
  • Teardrop is ready!

Bent Teardrop:

  • Take a long narrow color strip and roll it with the help of a pen-like object or an object with sharp long sides and edges.
  • Place the shape a little loosely into a hole of a scale with many types of circles in it.
  • Fold it with your fingers sidewise making a leaflike shape.
  • Apply some glue from the glue box at the end of it. A small hole should be present on it.
  • Fold the upper part of it with your fingers and bend it from the middle.
  • Bent Teardrop is ready!

Marquis:

  • Take a long narrow color strip and roll it with the help of a pen-like object or an object with sharp long sides and edges.
  • Place the shape a little loosely into a hole of a scale with many types of circles in it.
  • Apply some glue from the glue box at the end of it. A small hole should be present on it.
  • Fold it from both sides and pull out the middle roll from under it a little. Then again fold both sides of it.
  • Marquis is ready!

Square:

  • Take a long narrow color strip and roll it with the help of a pen-like object or an object with sharp long sides and edges.
  • Place the shape a little loosely into a hole of a scale with many types of circles in it.it will be medium big.
  • Apply some glue from the glue box at the end of it. A small hole should be present on it.
  • Fold it from the sides left to right and up to down properly by making a diamond-like square shape.
  • The Square is ready!

V scroll:

  • Take a long narrow color strip and fold it in the middle.
  • Use the pen-like object or an object with sharp long sides and edges and roll both right and left sides a little only the upper portion. It will look like a butterfly’s head spring.
  • V scroll is ready!

S scroll:

  • Take a long narrow color strip.
  • Use the pen-like object or an object with sharp long sides and roll the upper and lower part of it. Make it look like alphabet ‘S’.
  • S scroll is ready!

A Flower shape:

  • Take two long narrow different color strips.
  • Take one of the strips and smoothly chop the under/ upper side of it by making small straight lines. Don’t cut the whole stripes it will be a mess then chop it a little.
  • Take the other strip and apply glue on the end side of it and attach it with the other strip.
  • Use the pen-like object or an object with sharp long sides and roll the whole strips by making a small circle.
  • Apply some glue from the glue box at the end of it. A small hole should be present on it.
  • A Flower shape is ready!

These are some basic shapes of quilling. Follow them and apply them to your work!
