Basic Flowers – Part III

Paper quilling is a form of art that is done by cutting paper into long thin strips, then the paper strips are formed in different shapes by rolling and pinching the pieces, then adding glue to the shapes together and that will make very decorative art. Paper quilling is often used for decorating cards, gift boxes, gift bags, picture frames, or making 3D stand-alone art pieces, which will make everybody in wonder. One of the benefits of doing this is often the expansion of concentration. You can do this to calm your mind and deduct stress. Today you are going to make some of the important flower shapes which are required for quilling. So, follow the process, note the names, and Let’s begin!

How to Make Basic Quilling Flower shapes

Materials:

  1. Quilling pen.
  2. Border buddy.
  3. Circle sizer.
  4. Quilling strips.
  5. Craft Glue.

Procedure:

First flower shape-

  • Take a quilling strip and a quilling pen, roll the strip into the quilling pen.
  • Pull off the coil after rolling it.
  • Take a circle sizer, put the coil into a middle shape circle and then roll it with your hands.
  • Apply glue at the end of the strip to properly secure it.
  • After getting ready with the coil, Pull the centre down and pinch one side.
  • Take the quilling pen, press it in the centre of the border side of the coil.
  • It will make a heart shape.
  • Follow these steps and make five more of this heart.
  • Take all the hearts, apply glue on both sides of them and attach them next to each other.
  • Your first flower shape is done!

Second flower shape:

  • Take a paper quilling strip, fold it in half and cut it.
  • Take a paper quilling pen, roll both pieces with it.
  • Take a circle sizer, put the coils into a middle shape circle. The size must be the same.
  • Put them out and secure their ends with glue.
  • Take the coils, pinch them on the side of them and give two teardrop shapes.
  • Apply glue and put both teardrops together.
  • Apply glue on the shapes outside, take another paper strip and roll around it.
  • Apply glue on its end and secure it.
  • Follow these steps and make five more of these.
  • Apply glue on both sides of them and attach them next to each other.
  • Your second flower shape is done!

Third flower shape:

  • Take a quilling strip and a quilling pen, roll the strip into the quilling pen.
  • Pull off the coil after rolling it.
  • Take a circle sizer, put the coil into a little bigger circle shape.
  • Apply glue at the end of the strip to properly secure it.
  • Pinch both sides of the coil and give it a bend marquis shape.
  • Follow these steps and make nine more.
  • You will need one tight coil.
  • Take the quilling strip and the quilling pen, roll the strip into the quilling pen.
  • Pull off the coil after rolling it.
  • Take a circle sizer, put the coil into the smallest shape circle as it will be a tight coil.
  • Apply glue at the end of the strip to properly secure it.
  • Take all the coils, put glue on the tip of the marquis and attach all of them around the tight coil.
  • Your third flower shape is done!

Forth flower shape:

  • Take a square-shaped border buddy and a strip, apply glue on the end of the strip and stick it to the first step of the border buddy and roll it.
  • Put glue on the strip’s end to secure it. 
  • Pull out the strip and pinch all four sides of the square shape.
  • Take another strip, roll the strip on the fifth step of the border buddy.
  • Put glue on the strip’s end to secure it. 
  • Pull out the strip and pinch all four sides of the square shape.
  • Take another strip, roll the strip on the seventh step of the border buddy.
  • Put glue on the strip’s end to secure it. 
  • Pull out the strip and pinch all four sides of the square shape.
  • Apply glue on the bottom side of the second part and place it in the first part.
  • Do the same with the third part and place it on the second part.
  • Follow these steps and make five more of these.
  • Apply glue on both sides of them and attach them next to each other.
  • Your fourth flower shape is done!
