Quilling Letters

Paper quilling is a type of art that is done by cutting paper into long thin strips, then the paper strips are formed in different shapes by rolling and pinching the pieces, then adding glue to the shapes together and that will make very decorative art. Paper quilling is often used for decorating cards, gift boxes, gift bags, picture frames, or making 3D stand-alone art pieces, which will make everybody in wonder. One of the benefits of doing this is often the expansion of concentration. You can calm your mind and deduct stress by doing this. Today you are going to learn some quilling letters. Let’s begin!

Quilling letters- How To Make Quilling Art for Beginners

Materials:

  • Print out of letters ( V, I, C)
  • Scissors.
  • Quilling strips
  • Quilling pen
  • Craft glue.

Procedure:

  • Take the letter’ V’ printout, cut it out with scissors.
  • Apply glue on the front of the letter and place it over a big piece of paper.
  • Repeat this for the letter ‘I’‘as well.
  • The letter C will be pasted on the paper from the back and you don’t need to cut it.

There are two ways of lettering, You are going to learn the first way today!

First way:

The letter ‘I’:

  • Take a quilling strip and keep it next to a letter, fold on the joints of the letter.
  • After the folds are done, cut the rest of the strip.
  • Pertain glue on the strip and vertically place it on the outline of the letter.
  • Take another colour paper quilling strip and a quilling pen, roll from the one side of the strip and release that halfway.
  • Hold the strip within the middle and quil again, stop it after reaching the previous roll and release it.
  • Follow these steps until the whole strip ends.
  • It will create a wave scroll.
  • Apply glue in it and put the wave scroll inside the letter.

P.S- You can also use the small strips of the leftover paper.

The letter ‘V’:

  • Take a quilling strip, place it next to the letter and cut pieces of the outline.
  • Cut it from one joint to the other joint of the letter.
  • After you are ready with all the pieces, apply glue on them and vertically stick the pieces on the outline of the letter.
  • Take another colour paper quilling strip and a quilling pen, roll from the one side of the strip and release that halfway.
  • Hold the strip within the middle and quil again, stop it after reaching the previous roll and release it.
  • Follow these steps until the whole strip ends.
  • It will create a wave scroll.
  • Apply glue in it and put the wave scroll inside the letter.

P.S- You can also use the small strips of the leftover paper.

The letter ‘C’:

  • Take a quilling strip, roughly take the measurement of the outer part of the letter.
  • Take some extra space then cut the piece with scissors.
  • Take a paper quilling pen and give the piece a curve.
  • Apply some glue on the curved piece, use your fingertips to spread the glue.
  • Slowly stick the strip on the outline of the letter.
  • Repeat the steps for the inner part of the letter as well.
  • As you give some extra space to the curves, give the folds on the tips of them to complete the letter.
  • Take another colour paper quilling strip and a quilling pen, roll from the one side of the strip and release that halfway.
  • Hold the strip within the middle and quil again, stop it after reaching the previous roll and release it.
  • Follow these steps until the whole strip ends.
  • It will create a wave scroll.
  • Apply glue in it and put the wave scroll inside the letter.
  • Take small pieces of other colour strips and make small coils.
  • Place the small coils on the gap of the curves of the wave scroll with glue.

P.S- You can also use the small strips of the leftover paper.
